Cefquinome (sulfate)

Intramammary sterile infusion for drying cow

Pharmaceutical composition: Each 10 g syringe contains:
-Cefquinome sulfate 150 mg
– Oily base q.s. 10 g

Pharmaceutical specifications: Cefquinum is a broad-spectrum antibiotic and bacteriocide of the fourth generation of cephalosporins, which inhibits the peptidoglycans of the bacterial cell wall. It is also very resistant to beta-lactamase of Gram-negative bacteria. As a result, it has a good bactericidal effect in the breast affected by coliform and staphylococcal mastitis.

Target species: : Cattle

Indications:It is prescribed for the treatment of subclinical mastitis during drought caused by organisms sensitive to Cefquinum (Streptococcus obris, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus agalactiae, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus coagulase negative) in dry cows.

Method and dosage:

• Shake the syringe before use.
• Wash teats thoroughly with warm water containing a suitable dairy antiseptic. Dry teats thoroughly. Milk out udder completely. Shake the syringe before use. Dry teats thoroughly. Milk out udder completely Infuse the content of one injector in to each affected quarter. In order to better absorb the medicine, after injection, massage the breast from bottom to top.

Precautions:

• For Veterinary Use Only
• Do not use in lactating period.
• Hypersensitivity to Cephalosporins should be considered.
• Cefquinome should not come into contact with the skin, eyes, mouth and clothing.
• Keep out of reach of children.

• Withdrawal period:

• Meat: 2 days Milk One day after the dry period (8 weeks)

Storage:

• Keep in below 25 °C and protect from sunlight and freezing.

Packaging:

• 30 syringes of 10 grams
