Pharmaceutical specifications: Cefquinum is a fourth generation antibiotic from the family of cephalosporins, which has a wide range of effects on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It inhibits the synthesis of peptidoglycans in the bacterial cell wall which leads to its lysis and death of bacteria.
Target species: : Cattle
Indications:Treatment uterine infections due to dystocia and retained placenta, clinical and subclinical endometritis, metritis and retinal estrus syndrome in cow.
Method and dosage:
- Shake well before use.
- 1. Fix the syringe to the catheter.
- 2. Hold the cervix of the uterus with one gloved hand introduced into rectum.
- 3. Introduce the catheter through the cervix into the lumen of the uterus by gentle oscillating movement of the cervix and inject drug. One treatment is usually sufficient for a complete cure.
- In artificially inoculated animals, the drug can be used one day after inoculation. In cases of pyometra, in order to induce lutealization and discharge purulent substances from the uterus, treatment with prostaglandins is recommended before prescribing the drug.
