Ivermectin 1/55 %

Pharmacological characteristics and mechanism of action : Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic with broad-spectrum effectiveness and a wide margin of safety in horses. This substance belongs to macrocyclic lactone group. which acts as an agonist of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA0). On the other hand, it is connected to chloride gated-glutammate channels and by increasing the permeability of nerve cells to chlorine ions and as a result of hyperpolarization of these cells, it blocks the transmission of nerve signals and leads to paralysis and then the death of the parasite. . Praziquantel is a pyrazinoisoquinolone derivative that causes paralysis of the parasite’s muscles by increasing the permeability of the cell membrane to calcium and the release of calcium ions. This substance shows a strong anti-parasitic effect against trematodes and cestodes without anti-nematode activity. Ivermectin together with praziquantel is an effective combination to eliminate different species of horse parasites in different stages of the life cycle of tapeworms, roundworms and larvae.

Indications:Prazimectin paste is used for the treatment and control of broad worms, large and small strongyles, Oxyuris equiis, Parascaris equorum, Trichostrongylus oxiae, Habronema muske, larvae and lungworms in horses.

Method and dosage:
