Cephapirin ( benzathine )

infusion sterile Uterine-Intra

Composition:Each injector ( 19 g ) contains: Cephapirin ( benzathine ) 500 mg
Oily base q.s. 19 g

Pharmaceutical specifications:Cephapirin is a first-generation cephalosporin with a broad -spectrum antimicrobial activity against gram- positive and gram- negative bacteria. It is also penicillinase-resistant and effective in anaerobic environments such as uterus.

Target species: : Cattle

• Indication:

Metrikim is indicated for the treatment of subacute and chronic endometritis in cows (at least 14 days after parturition ) caused by bacteria sensitive to cephapirin. Important endometritis pathogenes sensitive to cephapirin include actinomyces (coryne bacterium ) pyogenes and anaerobic bacteria such as fusobacterium necrophorum and black pigmented gram negative anaerobes.

Metrikim can also be used to treat repeat breeder cases ( more than three unsuccessful in seminations ) if bacterial infections are suspected to be the cause of the fertility problem.

Method and dosage:

• Shake well before use.
• Using a catheter, insert the contents of a metric syringe into the space inside the uterus.
• 1- Connect the syringe to the catheter.
• 2- Hold the cervix of the uterus with one hand using gloves and through the rectal bag.
• 3- Insert the tube through the cervix by gently moving the cervix into the uterine space.
• 4- Inject the metric.
• In artificially inseminated animals, metricim can be used one day after inoculation.
• In cases of purulent uterus (pyometra), in order to induce lutealization and empty purulent substances from the uterus, treatment with prostaglandins is recommended before prescribing metricym.

Prohibited usage:

• Do not use at the same time as other drugs.

Precautions:

• For Veterinary Use Only
• Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins should be considered.
• Avoid contact of the medicine with skin, eyes and mucous membranes.
• Do not use in pregnant animals. (Consumption during pregnancy is not prohibited.)
• Do not use with other intra-uterines products simultaneously.
• Keep out of reach of children.

• Withdrawal period:

• Meat: 2 days
• Milk: None

Storage:

• Store between 15-25˚c , protect from direct sunlight and freezing.

• Box of 1 catheter, 1 gloves and 1 syringe (19 g)
